Here is the full list of those free old modules from Wizards of the Coast, as reviewed by rpg.net:Each module listed can be clicked to see the review of the free module, along with user commentary (if any). In addition, in each module review, under the 'Game Editions' heading, you will find a link to the original page at Wizards, which still works, and leads you to the download.Unfortunately for you, there are two lighthouse modules.
So far I could only find one of the them, here:Wreck Ashore:EDIT: Dang! Wizards had a lot of lighthouse modules.
What, was it a fetish for them?!? Here are the others:Bad Light:The Sea Witch:The Tower of Deception:EDIT #2Lower in this thread, we've discovered that Wizards of the Coast seems to have lost the.zip files for download! I've recovered many of the files.
You can see the start of it here:. Thanks a lot, 'Bad Light' is the one I was looking for! It has a few neat ideas regarding some piracy involving a fake beacon and I'm looking for an excuse to crash a group of entirely new players on a rocky shoreline.
I find that a boat journey gives them all something to riff off for character hooks (Why are they travelling?), and allows me to lead them into an adventure by putting them all in peril quite quickly.Unfortunately, following the link on rpg.net leads, where the actual link the.pdf is broken.I was able to acquire it with a quick Google search, but I'm not sure that it's being hosted legally in this instance (I found it on a website called hawkclan.com). It's odd that Wizards decided to stop hosting these directly, especially with them reprinting some 3.5 edition books. It's also surprising that Wizards have so much love for lighthouses, considering these structure's predisposition to being cylindrical. This makes expressing them in terms of 5ft squares so very complicated. Holy crap, have they killed off all of those PDFs?EDIT: Yes, yes they have. This SUCKS.I'm not sure that it's being hosted legally in this instanceWizards of the Coast published the free modules under the OGL, which makes it freely re-publishable.
So no matter where you got it, it's legal.Ugh. After I get home from dropping my kids off, I'll put together a repository of all the adventures for everyone to use. It'll take some hours, but I'll add a post to DnD when it's done.(I'd just link everyone to a site that have all the PDFs available, but the problem is that those sites mix the legally free stuff with all the 'pay only' stuff, and I'd like to avoid that. So I'll make a free-only list shortly.).
